Why this site exists
Industrial layout work often needs recognizable equipment geometry before a manufacturer model or fabrication drawing is available. MechModel Lab publishes lightweight, exterior-focused models for arrangement studies, clearance reviews, presentations and engineering visuals.
The models are created from visual references and personal CAD practice. Each product states its formats and limitations so approximate geometry is not mistaken for certified manufacturing data.
Downloadable CAD models
The first catalogue includes a motor-driven diaphragm pump, a reflex-type level gauge and an oil-immersed industrial transformer. Each product includes STEP and STL exchange files plus the listed Solid Edge source files.
These are generic exterior and assembly models, not manufacturing-, pressure- or electrical-specification-validated design files.
Free tools remain available
Combines material, power, machine time, labor, failure reserve, profit and selling fees.
Converts remaining spool weight to theoretical length and estimated part yield.
Builds an hourly machine-cost baseline and works backward from a target sales margin.
Calculation and editorial principles
- Show the formula and scope behind important results.
- Do not present one arbitrary input as correct for every printer and product.
- Clearly separate sample values from measured user data.
- Let users enter changing values such as electricity, fees and taxes.
- Prefer in-browser calculation without sending quote inputs to a site server.
Important limitations
Results are informational estimates based on the values entered. They do not guarantee a transaction price, profit, tax treatment or business outcome. CAD work, intellectual property rights, product safety, certification, shipping and returns are outside the calculation. Cost alone is not enough to decide whether to manufacture a safety-critical or regulated product.
